Happy Birthday Marmee!!

Today would have been the 71st birthday of my mom and my best friend. Mary Eaton Bush lost her fight with cancer on February 19, 2002. We had prayed for healing and God gave her just that. But as always our thoughts are not God's thoughts, and our ways are not God's ways. God chose eternal healing over our mere earthly healing. So today I will not be sad because I know my precious Marmee is celebrating with her loved ones and her savior. Today I choose to remember the beautiful soul that was my mother and rest assured that one day I will be with her again!

My mom was the one who nutured my love for literature and poetry. My name for her always changed depending on which book I was reading at the time. Mother, Mommie (my sister always corrected my spelling, but I liked it that way), Mom or Marmee just to name a few. So I will close with a poem I believe is by Emily Dickenson.

You will not see me, so you must have faith. I wait for the time when we can soar
together again, both aware of each other. Until then, live your life to its fullest and when
you need me, just whisper my name in your heart, ...I will be there.
Emily Dickenson
