Happy New Year's from My Kitchen to Yours

My beautiful family (Geoff, Jennifer, Charlie and myself).

As I was reminiscing I realized it is not the bad times of last year I remember the most. Though 2010, was a year that was financial hard on a lot of people. I saw my own family struggle to survive. I have seen families devastated by the loss of their children. Whether as an infant or as and adult child. And as they walk down this most difficult road any parent could travel. What I remember most is the grace that God provided to each in everyone of them and the peace that only God can provide.

2010 has been filled with so many blessings and events. We celebrated birthdays and anniversaries. We celebrated milestones both big and small. But most of all we can celebrate being a family! As mixed up and unconventional as we are, we are a family!

The first half of 2010 just rocked along. Kelly is in school and Chuck is work three jobs so I miss the time we spent together. But I know sacrifice now will be so worth the outcome later.  Jenn and I finished her last year of middle school and which also happened to be the last year as a home school student.

The summer was such an exciting time. I travelled to New York to see my nephew Albert graduate high school. when we drove home I brought my nephew Wyatt with me. I so loved having him. He helped me cook and taught me how to make "Man-Burgers".  We were also able to spend time with the Florida Barnwells. Getting to know Jennifer, Isabelle and Silas was wonderful. It was the first time we had seen them since Silas was a baby (now 6).

August brought more changes. Jennifer went from being a home schooled student to a high school student at Carrollton High School. Brooke is a freshman at Villa Rica High School and my sweet Whitney is a senior! Where did the time go!!! Geoffrey started his job at Wal-Mart. This is where he has met his sweet girlfriend Angelica.

On the road again in September!  This time to Jacksonville, Florida for the wedding of Charlie's son Billy and his beautiful wife Nicole. It was such a blessing to be part of the celebration. Zack and Kiaya rode down with us. It was great spending time with the grandchildren. And I started school at West Georgia Technical College. I thank Kelly for that. I am so proud of her! This time next year she will be a registered nurse!

October saw Brooke turn 15 and get her learner's license. She is doing a great job I might add.

November and December brought us to the holidays, a wonderful Thanksgiving and a magical Christmas. Cody came home from Texas. We found out in December that we will be gaining a granddaughter in February when Jimmy and Olivia wed and in July we will welcome our first great grandchild.

I know I did not mention every one's birthday by name. Trust me I did not forget. But with large family we have it would take a while. I love you all so much and you are what makes my life the wonderful adventure it is and I thank God for each and everyone of you. With my family and friends I look forward to the new blessings God has in store for us.

I love you all....Happy New Year!!!!
